Highly Capable Program

In accordance with the philosophy to develop the special abilities of each student, Castle Rock School District offers appropriate instructional programs to meet the needs of exceptionally gifted and talented students of school age. Objectives for these programs encompass, but are not limited to: Expanding academic attainments and intellectual skills; Stimulating intellectual curiosity, independence and responsibility; Developing a positive attitude toward self and others; and Developing originality and creativity.

The superintendent establishes procedures (Policy No. 2190) consistent with state guidelines for nominating, assessing and selecting children of demonstrated achievement or potential in terms of general intellectual ability, academic aptitude and creative or productive thinking.
